Author of Doe
Friday, April 26, 5 pm
Hear selections of Aimée Baker’s poetry collection, Doe, which was the 2016 Akron Prize winner from the University of Akron Press. Doe transforms missing person and unidentified person (Jane Doe) cases into poetry. By utilizing public files, newspaper reports, and other public information, this manuscript seeks to erase the silence surrounding these women and resurrect them in our collective consciousness.
Aimée Baker is a North Country native and received her BA in Creative Writing and History from St. Lawrence University and her MFA from Arizona State University. Currently, she is a lecturer for SUNY Plattsburgh’s Professional Writing Certificate Program and she also serves as the Executive Editor for Saranac Review.
